Thanksgiving in Italy!

So that's why you started spending extended writing retreats in Italy....

Happy Freakin' Thanksgiving

My guess is no one really knows what Thanksgiving is about.

The libs want to kill it and turn it into an Indian bashing thing. The cons want to do the traditional pilgrim-break-bread thing (even thought the Pilgrims were starving to death and eating their young).

All I remember is a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Lucy pulling the football out from under CB. What a Bitch.

In the end, all we're left with is the food. I think there's a reason we only eat onion melted cheese green bean heart attack casserole once a year. We never think about eating the canned cranberry jelly. But when it's Thanksgiving, we dive into that shit. The pumpkin pie too. Pilgrims and Mohawks never ate pumpkin pie. They ate peoples brains for desert, if they were lucky, and were thankful.

This is my first TD back in the States in 7 years. Me thinks I go away again next year.
