What, another new Zandri Release?

The brand new release

...I know, it seems like every month I have at least a new novella being released. That's because I do, and that's the plan for the year (my traditional publishers only publish one book per year, and I write more than that). So far I've been holding true to my personal promise.

The latest addition to the Zandri canon is The Flower Man. This one is the second in the unbelievably successful (lol) Steve Jobz Thriller series. That's Steve Jobz, as in Jobzinski (the name was cut short at Ellis Island back in the 1920's). Here's the quick product description copied and pasted from its Amazon page for your reading pleasure:

"SEXUAL HARASSMENT IN THE WORKPLACE WILL NOT ONLY RUIN YOUR CAREER, IT WILL GET YOU KILLED."

Private Investigator and anti-hero Steve Jobz has screwed up big time. He had one too many the night before and it gave him the courage to text photos of his naked chest to his new, hot co-worker at The State Department of Insurance Fraud Agency. While the lovely Kate is keeping quiet about the texts, Jobz feels like the boom is about to come down on him when his boss orders him into her office. Seems Homicide Detective Nick Miller wants a face to face with the former cop.

But what Miller wants has nothing to do with Jobz’s texts. Instead they have everything to do with a local television news personality known to all as Mr. TV. Much like Jobz, the lovable news anchor has also texted photos of himself to a co-worker. But these photos were not of the relatively tame chest high variety. Rather, the pictures were taken below the belt. As a result, Mr. TV is not only getting sued but being issued death threats from the victim’s Russian immigrant father.

When Miller assigns Jobz to personally watch over the Mr. TV and his cougar wife, Janice, what he discovers is that the couple are up to their necks in more than just a sexting scandal. They are in fact broke and living on cash that is coming from a very unlikely source. The Russian mob. What follows is a quagmire of sex, shootouts, serial murder, and a quirky private detective who just can't keep himself from getting in trouble with the ladies.

Like The Embalmer, the first novel in the new Steve Jobz PI series created and written by Thriller Award winning New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Vincent Zandri, The Flower Man culminates with an explosive climax and promises to keep readers glued to their chairs for hours. For fans of Michael Connelly, Robert B. Parker, Charlie Huston, Jim Crumley, Lee Child, Brett Battles, and more.

So as you can see, this one borrows from some current events. A lot of my novels and stories are lifted from current events, many of them reported by local Albany news junkies like Anya Tucker (give her Twitter page a like) or Brendan Lyons (give his Twitter page a like), and some from other more national or global sources. The fun about writing fiction is you can pick and choose which stories you want to embellish and/or fictionalize while still holding true to some of the facts. I guess in that sense, if you're looking for real fake news, this is it (that's supposed to be a joke).

Here's hoping you grab a copy of the The Embalmer today and be thrilled.

Who doesn't love Die Hard?

"Yippee ki yay, mofo!"
I know I do. Who can forget Bruce Willis, aka John McClain, fighting the bad guys in his bare feet after they'd hijacked the Nakatomi (sp) Towers in LA? Or in Die Hard 2 (Die Harderer, or something like that), being blown out of a fighter jet after pulling the eject lever? You just couldn't kill the guy no matter what you did to him.

I wanted to write a book like that. Something explosive and pyromania-like. But I also wanted my main character, Ike Singer, to be human, with a nice family, who had the will to live when evil unexpectedly arrived at their doorstep. In this case the evil takes the form of an attractive young blonde scientist, Dr. Allison Darling, who builds nanothermite bombs, knows how to use them as a weapon of terror, and has one very major grudge against Singer.

With that I give you The Detonator which is released today in hardcover and eBook from Polis Books. If you start reading it and find you can't stop, I will have done my job. It was constructed as a page turner and an attention grabber. These days, writers have to compete with everything from Twitter posts to Netflix. We have our work cut out for us.

DON'T GET BOMBED!
Get The Detonator

"Dynamite!"
--Publishers Weekly

"Only author Vincent Zandri can make readers understand the meaning of revenge, hate, greed, betrayal and the dangers of getting involved with bombs, pipe bombs, and being a Master Blaster. This book would really hit high ratings on the WIDE SCREEN!"
--Sam Freene

"Riveting,"

On-Site Research Resulted in 'Chase Baker and the Seventh Seal'

Today is Release Day for the 9th novel in the Chase Baker action/adventure series,
CHASE BAKER AND THE SEVENTH SEAL.

I traveled to the Middle East in May of this year and "Seal" is the book that resulted from it. Judging from the reactions of my beta readers, it just might be the best Chase yet. In fact, for those authors who feel as though they can get away with Googling all their information about a specific locale somewhere outside their writing room, I'd like to submit this: You can't possibly get an idea of the true smell, taste, or feel of a place unless you immerse yourself in it for a while.

In Jerusalem, I climbed the stone walls in the Old City, explored the tunnels under the Wailing Wall, bribed a teenage kid to take up through the Muslim cemetery to the top of Golgotha where Christ and two thieves were crucified for all of Jerusalem to see and be fearful of. The top of the skull-like hill is exactly 777 meters above sea level and it's the highest natural point in the city (the Bible speaks of 7 codices and when the seal on the 7th one is breached, the end of times will be upon us). It's located right outside the Damascus Gate on what was the Damascus Road back in the 1st century AD. There's a garden nearby and a tomb which has only been used once in its two centuries of existence. One of the two resting places was hastily chiseled out to accommodate a man who measured 5'11", the exact height, it turns out, of the man whose likeness appears on the Shroud of Turin. Coincidence? Or fact.

Or perhaps you believe in tradition...that Jesus was crucified on the spot in which The Church of the Holy Sepulcher now resides. I spent a lot of time there as well.

But you be the judge. Read the book...

Chase Baker and the Seventh Seal is one of those novels that will elevate your heart rate and make you think...

Here's the deal: It's offered up here for just 24 hours only at a .99 so that we can sell as many as possible on opening day and propel this one right up the charts.
