The Author's Guild and the American Booksellers Association are lobbying the state department to sue Amazon over their alleged bookselling monopoly. This is a sort of ongoing battle that has been waged for years now. I can't believe that in 2023 someone or something hasn't come up with a better alternative to Amazon.
