Much like visiting the Allied Invasion beachhead at Normandy in France, the site of the Anzac landings at Gallipoli where thousands of Australian and New Zealand soldiers were slaughtered by Ottoman machine gun emplacements and later bogged down in trench warfare, the feeling one gets is both humbling and chilling.
