The war in the Ukraine is escalating to dangerous proportions while the US, urged on by many D.C. politicians on both sides, urge direct intervention. We've cut off Mr. Putin's oil, but we've also cut off our own capacity to feed our need to fuel ourselves. Gas will spike and so will food. Will it kill book sales? Perhaps. But then with the threat of nuclear war on the horizon (and 1 billion dead, experts estimate), that might be the least of our worries.
