YouTube indie news website, Breaking Points, reports that last year alone more than 370 local newspapers went belly up in both paper and digital. The number of local reporters dropped from around 75,000 in the US to about 35,000. This is not only a sad revelation, it's also a dangerous one. A similar situation is happening in the traditional fiction publishing business.
