It only stands to reason that if you're not having fun writing your book, then the reader, if only on a subconscious level, will also not have fun. It's like dating someone new. You'll know pretty quickly if you're going to work out or not, because if it isn't fun, you're never going to have a fun relationship. The best bet is to bail while you have the chance.
