Pamukkle, Turkey is the home to the magnificent Hieropolis, the Greco-Roman civilization that flourished in these parts for a millennia or more. They even had running water and communal toilets. You know, all the pleasures of home. Too bad the life expectancy was somewhere around 30 but you can't have it all. The hike up to the mountain top is covered wet pummus rock that comes from the hot springs, and is at times perilous. That is, if you're like me with flat feet, three screws in one foot, and in possession of an odd sense of balance.
